How It Began
The land now known as Soul Fire Forest was first gathered by a small group of friends in 2018. We had all spent years seeking community, attending gatherings, learning traditional skills, and dreaming of a place to put it all into practice.
What started as occasional camping trips became regular work parties. The work parties became gatherings. The gatherings became a community.
The Land
Our site encompasses rolling hills, oak woodlands, and a seasonal creek. Over the years, we've established food forests, herb gardens, and outdoor gathering spaces. We've built structures using natural materials, installed water catchment systems, and created habitat for the wild neighbors who share this place with us.
Looking Forward
We're still growing, still learning, still figuring it out together. Our vision extends beyond our lifetimes. We're planting trees we'll never see mature, building soil that will feed generations to come, and cultivating the kind of community that can carry this work forward.
